my paper, the Fresno Bee just laid 63 workers and took the daily funnies off color and went back to black and white to cut costs. They are forecasting an end to the newspapers as we have known them and are promoting a weekly E-Subscription at $2.76 per week. I imagine the wbts would probably do the same thing.

Does the rapid end of paper news forbode a crisis for the WT?
by jamiebowers inaccording to this article, not all papers will be gone, and some that are gone was due to mismanagement more than the bad economy: http://www.slate.com/id/2215154/?gt1=38001.
that being said, i'm sure the wb&ts will do whatever is most profitable for them, as usual..

My First Passover
by Tired of the Hypocrisy ini am now a born again christian with a wife who is too sick to be an active jw but who is insisting on going to the memorial.
i know i am not under any obligation to celebrate the passover but i found out a few months ago that i am part jewish.
for some reason my folks never told me about it and i had to hear it from my cousin who told me that besides being part jewish, my maternal great grandfather was also part irish.

"If you were in charge of the New System calendar....what new holidays would you make up?"
If I got to pick the Holidays, I imagine I would make:
The First Sunday of every month everyone born in that month's birthday party. A huge bash worldwide lasting 24 hours.
Every Saturday would be "Never Knock on a Door Day". This would be a beer drinkers heaven.
Harvest Holidays would remain intact. As would Father's and Mother's Day, Christmas, Easter, and New Years.

"I think Adventism should be next"
You know it's funny you should say Adventism. I just this morning checked the mail and the sda church a few miles down the road in Orosi, CA sent me an invite. They supposedly have answers to every family's questions.

"Aren't you just trading one superstition for another?"
Not really, I am just looking at the different facets of my bloodline.

I am now a born again Christian with a wife who is too sick to be an active JW but who is insisting on going to the memorial. For some reason my folks never told me about it and I had to hear it from my cousin who told me that besides being part Jewish, my maternal great grandfather was also part Irish. I asked my mom if it was true and she said it is. I asked her why she never told me in 46 years. She said it was never really an issue...I always wanted to celebrate the Jewish holidays and now I know why! LOL
So, I have been looking into celebrating my first Passover and I am overwhelmed with the rules for the house and the table. I have already gotten rid of all the leavening from the house and most of the other stuff including making my home Kosher for the week. I am not sure I can make the Matzo in the time prescribed and wonder if anyone here knows if serving store bought spelt matzos is ok or not. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
